When dealing with large, severe injuries on the battlefield or here at home, a few seconds can mean the difference between losing a limb - or losing a life. When time is critical, just rip open a packet of QuikClot ACS+™(Advanced Clotting Sponge) or QuikClot 1st Response™, pack the self-contained sponge into the wound and bleeding stops rapidly. The sponge can be packed to conform to the shape of the wound and is easily removed in the hospital setting.

QuikClot ACS+™ consists of beads of QuikClot contained in a porous surgical fabric. The sponge is packed into the wound and allows the activated beads to come into direct contact with the bleeding. Developed in conjunction with the U.S. Marines, the new ACS+ has been designed with a greatly reduced exothermic reaction, with maximum temperatures in vivo typically 40OC. Each package contains one 3.5oz hemostatic sponge.
